MCRN is the Mountains Community Resource Network and we are the peak body for community organisations in the Blue Mountains.


Our goal is to lead and support a sustainable community sector in the Blue Mountains by:

Blue Mountains Finance Workers Group

About the Group

Blue Mountains Finance Workers Group is a forum for Finance Officers and Bookkeepers working in community organisations.

Purpose/Goals

The Group provides a networking opportunity for finance workers in the local community sector to share information and solve problems.

Activities

The Group discusses and provides support on topics such as taxation, use of MYOB, FBT, and other issues specific to community and not-for-profit organisations. Membership includes access to the group-wide mailing list to provide support, contact and information between meetings.

How often: The Blue Mountains Finance Workers Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every 3rd month. 

Where: Mid Mountains Neighbourhood Centre, 9 New Street, Lawson.

Australians for Native Title & ReconciliationAbout the Group

Blue Mountains People for Reconciliation/BMANTaR is a group of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Blue Mountains residents. The group supports the work of local Aboriginal Groups including BM Aboriginal Culture and Resource Centre, Gundungurra Tribal Council, Gunar Aboriginal Educational Consultative Group and Darug Tribal Corporation.

Purpose/Goals

Blue Mountains People for Reconciliation/BMANTaR meet to discuss and take action on a broad range of issues relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, locally and at a state and national level.

Activities

Issues include recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians; supporting local schools to access Aboriginal art, culture and language programs and resources; challenging racism; supporting the annual Sharing the Journey Elders lunch and lobbying on issues raised by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Meetings

How often: Blue Mountains People for Reconciliation/BMANTaR meet from 1pm to 3pm on the 3rd Friday of each month from February to November.

Where: MCRN Meeting Room, Lawson.

Who can attend: The group is always open to new members and all BMCI members are invited to attend BMP4R/BMANTaR meetings or join our email list.
